Embracing Innovation and Soilmec Technology

In the late 1980s, Jim Maxwell, of Hub Foundation Co., Inc., traveled to Italy to purchase the first Soilmec rig to make its way to North America. Later, Hub Foundation set another milestone and purchased North America's 100th Soilmec rig. Hub Foundation, headquartered near Boston, MA, is a leader in the drilled shaft industry and has been serving the Northeast since 1966. Today, Hub operates a fleet of 10 Soilmec rigs, along with state-of-the-art equipment and custom tooling, to offer general contractors a versatile and economical solution to even the most challenging jobs.

Hub Foundations built the foundations for a new 18-story structure atop an existing 8-story parking garage, with as little as 5 feet 6 inches of headroom in pits of 5 ft by 5 ft in the lower levels of the parking garage. Check out the Deep Foundations article, video, and photos covering this challenging project.
